Motorcycle Types

There are several motorcycle  types available on the markets today and they each have their own special characteristics. It is known, for a fact, that, no matter the type of motorcycle you choose, you are still going to be able to feel that adrenaline rush when you ride it. There is just something about the air going thought you hair, the wind caressing your body and the feel of the engine  right under you. This is the small expose where we are going to find out what are the types of motorcycles available on the market today and what are some of the features each of them have.

The off road motorbikes represent the ultimate adrenaline rush. They offer the rider the opportunity to challenge harsh terrain and do it at great speeds. Also with a mediocre consumption rate in mind, they can reach 240 miles per gallon and look simply amazing, staying in complete link with today's youth.

Street bikes represent the first type of motorcycles and they are designed especially for city life, as they are designed to deal with tarmac and asphalt and have a medium fuel consumption rate. The best example I could give regarding this category is the police motorcycle which you may have seen so many times behind you.
The cruiser is the type of motorcycle that is most associated to the tough and mean looking rider. Brands such as Harley Davidson and Excelsior should help you picture the type of bike I am talking about. Long, heavy, loud and comfortable, the cruiser will consume a lot of juice and will make a lot of noise. If you want to get noticed, then the cruiser is surely your choice.

Sport bikes represent the cream of the crop. Sport related motorcycles emphasize speed, acceleration, braking, and quick cornering on paved roads, typically at the harsh expense of comfort and fuel economy in comparison to the every day less specialized motorcycles. This is why their price is, sometimes, over the top, however performance was never a cheap feature.

The touring motorcycle is the type of vehicle you take on a trip to cross Europe or the United States by using only the road. Designed with very low consumption in mind, they can reach 280 miles per gallon and will keep you riding for huge distances. Add this to a huge boot in the rear and a very comfortable seat, and you have your self a continental motorcycle.

If you want to find out more information on the types of motorcycles available on today's markets, you can access one of the many website off road magazines that can be found on the Internet.
