honda car commercial

Are more people likely to buy a Honda because of the commercial? Well, if you look at the numbers, Honda is arguably one of the most frequently purchased vehicles, but that's just it. Commercials are worth the investment of millions of dollars spent for only a couple of minutes of your time because if you're watching them and you go to a dealership as a result of seeing "that cool car commercial," then obviously something was done right.

Honda is one type of car that has a very high commercial value, it is the proof that Honda is one of the cars the most widely used in developed countries and developing countries.

Honda Flying FUZ-O Futuristic Car Concept

We all knew the moment we will see flying cars will come some day, but taking a look at designer John Mahieddine’s Honda Hovercar, future seems nearer than we would have expected.

The “Honda Fuz-o” is a Vertical Take-Off and Landing concept. "The Fuz-o is a futuristic fantasy with four high-powered turbines for high-speed horizontal flight and Iron-Man-like handling,"  as Yanko Design reported.

The Fuz-o is supposed to hit a max speed of 400 mph (644 km/hour), being controlled via joysticks, one on either side of the driver’s seat on the armrests. The left joystick allows the car to spin to its axis and the right one manages tilt and direction.

The only things reminiscent of today's vehicles are are the usual pedals, controlling acceleration and braking, based at your feet. In addition, safety features such as a Fly-by-Wire system that relies on GPS to keep cars from hitting one another or airbags that open inside AND outside of the vehicle to protect the driver, the car, and anyone in the path of the car should it get in an air-collision are also present.

And like any flying car, the Fuz-o has retractable wheels and is made of ultra-light and ultra-strong carbon fibre, Kevlar, and carbon nano-tubes.

The virtual-take-off-and-landing (VTOL) vehicle can accommodate three passengers, including the driver, comfortably.

Any fan of “The Jetsons” must be quite delighted by the Honda Fuz-o, but before this flying car will be available for sale, all they can do is wait. If the design and the concept were pretty easy to put on the paper, it will take a while until such sci-fi project will hit production.

Honda Civic Reviews - What Is New?

The 2006 Honda Civic sedan is said to be one the most advanced piece of automotive machinery today. If you've been reading all the car reviews and magazines, with all the praises the new 2006 honda civics have been getting would lead you to think that it is indeed some kind of engineering break through. The 2006 Honda Civic may not be the most advanced car, but it is the most practical and reliable car for the amount you are paying.

I've been driving a Honda Civic for years now, and I have been faithfully loyal to Honda's lineup. My 1992 Honda Civic has over 200K miles on it, and it has only two problems that required more than a thousand dollars in maintenance. It's also been in a serious accident, but now it shows signs of its age or experience today. Other than these, this Honda Civic has no other major serious problems. Honda Civics are generally known for its reliability and robustness. Also, you may be interested in getting one of those cool GPS satellite navigation systems that comes along with the new 2006 Honda Civics.

What else is new with the 2006 Honda Civic that is winning it so much praise? The first thing you will notice is that they gave the car another makeover. Sort of like the makeover they gave the '92 model, going from the previous box look to the sleeker model, the '06 model is another leap forward towards a sleeker, futuristic, and dynamic design. The 2006 Honda Civic sedan is much more attractive than the 1992 model.

The 2006 Honda Civics has all gotten a boost to their performance as well. The 2006 Honda Civic sedan now has a 140 horsepower 1.8 liter i-VTEC engine with a Drive-by-Wire Throttle System, giving it more zip than ever. It is also even more fuel efficient than any of the previous Honda Civics, getting an incredible 40 MPG on highways, and 30 MPG in cities. The fuel efficiency alone is a good reason to look into buying a 2006 Honda Civic, but they are also low emission vehicles.

If you have been driving the new 2006 Honda Civic, you will probably be driving this Honda for some time to come. They've proven to be extremely reliable, efficient, and fun little cars, and are actually extremely affordable as well. If you are looking for the environmental friendly Honda Civic, you will be happy to check out the Honda Civic Hybrid, an Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating, so you can save on gas while enjoying amenities like the new multi-tiered instrument panel, a sophisticated audio system, and available navigation system.

Honda review 2010 : A Review of the Latest Model in honda city

Here I will share with you my findings about the car and help you decide whether it is a good buy. At $22,000, Honda City 2010 is the 3rd generation of this sedan model that is supposedly for the yuppies who live in urban areas. On the outside, the front design makes it look like an Autobot from Transformers. Inside, it has a very stylish elegance that reminds someone of a cool lounge.

Engine

This car is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that may come in manual or automatic transmission. It boasts of the new generation of i-VTEC engines that ensures fuel economy. It can give a maximum torque of 146Nm at 4800 rpm. The engines were also designed to reduce emission levels that may harm the environment.

Design

Surely, I would say that this car has the killer looks. For sure, everyone will give you, or your car, a second look when you pass by. Although this is longer and wider than its predecessor, it provides much more space and comfort. As opposed to many sedans, this car can provide luxurious space to five individuals without feeling cramped

Safety and Handling

This car is loaded with many safety features such as the anti-locking brake system. It also has a brake assist system and it is equipped with dual SRS airbags plus a crush-proof survival zone. Engineered at its best, this car provides effortless driving with its 5-speed automatic transmission. The car responds swiftly with a stress-free acceleration technology that allows you to drive smoothly in different types of terrains. It has front and rear shock absorbers that make the driving very comfortable.
All in all, I would rate this car a 4.5 out of 5. A 15.5 liter engine is still a gasoline guzzler no matter what manufacturers say about the car's fuel efficiency.

Qualities That Define A Good Car Forum

Today, when it comes to car forums, there is no dearth of them. The sheer numbers of forums that are out there are sufficient to confuse people about the right option to go in for. Hence, you will be able to easily get opinions from multiple viewpoints, which could perhaps give you a better idea of what the ideal solution might be. It might not seem important initially, but you should definitely look at the number of registered people in any of the car forums.

Active discussions

How many threads are open? Are members actively contributing to these threads? A good number of active discussions in the car forums mean that you will have a lot of topics to indulge in and hence, no shortage in the number of things that you could perhaps talk about.

Administered / Controlled

Offering opinions is one thing and abusing others is another. You have to respect another person's opinion, which is why it is important to be assured that the forums you are taking part in are administered and controlled appropriately. This is something that you ought to look into and give some thought to. After all, you wouldn't want to end up in a forum with heated and out of control debates! Car forums are expected to be places where you would discuss more about the machines you are passionate about. It should stay that way, and not deviate into something ugly.

Thus, these are the basic qualities with which you could perhaps identify the good car forums from the bad ones. To the best extent possible, it is a good idea to steer clear from the bad forums. After all, you wouldn't want to end up in some place that is not as simulating as you would have expected it to be. If this is something that you are really interested in, then you should be in a place that helps build on that interest and not just makes you want to stay away from discussing certain topics.

how to maintain the quality of your honda car!

Add caption
Honda cars are widely known for their staying power. Many of these cars continue to perform well, long after you buy them. This is probably why they retain such a good resale value. That's a great incentive to own on, since eventually, everyone will want to sell their existing car to get a new one. If you are a Honda owner, you have the privilege of driving an award winning car. Recently, Honda was given the JD Power & Associates award for being the car with the most customer satisfaction ratings.

Honda's Customer Insight Manager for the United Kingdom stated that it was Honda's priority to make every customer a satisfied customer, and to enhance the customer experience. That is why the JD Power & Associates Study was a crucial implement. It allows automobile companies quick access to the customer, and knowing what the customer wants. Honda is a company that has greatly benefited from their success, especially this past year when Honda took steps to significantly reduce consumer car costs.

When you find that perfect Honda car, you feel like the fates have dealt you a winning hand. You know that you and your car will be happy for a long time to come. Unfortunately, the unforeseen happens and you end up needing Honda parts in order to fix your car. To ensure that you are getting quality parts, you can't go wrong by going directly to the source (Honda) for any part you need. But if the manufacturer price is too high, you can definitely find the parts you need, for a lower price, at any number of automotive stores online that sell these types of parts.

Honda Integra

It's worth the hassle though, starting with the styling. The new honda Integra is a much chunkier model that the one built until 2001. Sleek headlights balanced perfectly with a revised grill give the car a purposeful look. The car sits on larger 17 inch alloy wheels (16 inch on the predecessor) with red Brembo brake callipers peering through the spokes, giving the car a cool look whilst enforcing that it'll stop dead too.

The roof line is actually higher than the old model too, with the car's stylist Hideaki Uchino quoted as saying the overall look is designed with the American market in mind. According to Uchino, previous sporty Hondas have been too "thin" so they've followed the lead of BMW and Audi's latest offerings. Surely not another case of the Japanese taking 'inspiration' from Europe? In this case we'll let Honda off, after all Uchino used to work for Ferrari stylists Pininfarina and helped design the 360 Modena. More than enough to have on your CV I'm sure you'd agree.

Recaro racing seats happily do remain, meaning that you'll remain gripped tightly no matter what corners lie ahead. The 1.8 litre engine has gone - upgraded to a smoother 2 litre i-VTEC. There's also some clever engineering meaning the intake cam timing is continuously variable. What this means in normal words is that emissions are reduced and power goes up. They're a clever lot aren't they?

As a result, power climbs 30bhp to 217bhp and the legendary i-VTEC will rev once more to 8,400rpm. The greatest joy of driving a VTEC still remains - this time at 6,000rpm. Once the counter hits this magical figure, the high-lift cams kicks in and you rampage towards the horizon accompanied by one of life's best soundtracks. A short shift six-speed gearbox makes sure you can get the most from all the revs too.

Honda also claims huge improvements in the structural rigidity of the body shell and when you combine this with stiffened suspension, it gives the new honda Integra a very different feel. Rear grip is phenomenal, with the car refusing to let go unless you really overdo it, but you'd have to be an idiot to be heading into a corner that fast anyway.

The larger wheels do more than just give the car a facelift, they really help with the handling too. Combining all these factors together, the latest car feels significantly faster (especially through the corners) even though the raw data suggests minimal speed advances - mainly as the car is 72kg heavier overall due to the larger engine.

When you do need to stop, never fear as the brakes, much like the wheels don't just look the part, they play it too. Again Honda talks in technical speak about 300mm vented discs, fade-resistant brake pads and duel cooling ducts. Just concern yourself with the fact that this car stops very quickly and doesn't get tired of doing so.

Finally in case you forgot what car you were in, 'Type R' badges adorn every available space - the seats, steering wheel, aluminum pedals, gear lever and so on. Honda needn't have bothered. Once you've driven the Honda Integra Type R, you'll never forget.

Honda CR-V Top for Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports, one of the country's leading sources of automotive information, has made a series of tests on small sport utility vehicles. The results of the tests done by the group would be published and available in its February 2007 issue. And if you are going to be reading that issue, you would be able to find out that Consumer Reports has found the Honda CR-V to top the other four small SUVs that the magazine has tested.

Despite being the top scorer among the group that Consumer Reports tested, the Honda CR-V has yet quite a long way to travel still. According to the magazine, comparing the Honda CR-V to the Toyota RAV4, which has also took the top score for a batch of tests done a couple of months back, the Honda CR-V has still some aspects to make up for. The Honda CR-V has already been part of the top scorers in Consumer Reports studies and it has joined the ranks of vehicles like the Toyota RAV4, and the Subaru Forester is the small sport utility vehicles segment.

As per the current test results, the Honda CR-V was given a rating of "Very Good". This was what the vehicle received for its overall performance score. The vehicle had to contend with four other vehicles namely the Honda Element, the Jeep Compass, the Saturn Vue Green Line, and the Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicles were tested and graded according to the magazine's criteria of what makes a good small SUV. Overall, the magazine was looking for a vehicle that was well-rounded. Specific criteria include good delivery and performance of the vehicle, flexibility of the interior, good fuel economy, as well as road proficiency. It was not mentioned though if the availability of parts, like Honda parts, were also considered.

The Honda CR-V was previously designed to have a boxy type of style. However, the new version holds a sleek kind of design and looks more like a car. It has gone through much improvement so much so that Consumer Reports has found the new Honda CR-V to have more straightforward controls. The interior has also changed so much so that drivers and passengers alike are going to love being inside the vehicle.

For power, the Honda CR-V gets it from its 2.4 liter engine with four cylinders. The engine has got the capacity and capability to produce 166 units of horsepower. This can give the vehicle just the right amount of acceleration and speed. To assist the engine, the vehicle also has been mounted with a five speed automatic transmission that makes the driving and ride experience to be more responsive and quite smoother.

If you are interested in knowing more about the whole Consumer Reports take on small SUVs, you should be able to purchase the February 2007 issue of the magazine on newsstands already. It has already hit stands just this 9th. The issue just does not include the whole report on small SUVs. There are also other interesting things included like ratings of portable and mobile Global Positioning Systems (GPS) navigators. There are also some reports on test drives done on two vehicles - the Chevrolet Avalanche and the Ford Explorer Sport Trac.

4 Simple Steps Before Buying Your Honda Cars

There are 4 simple but very effective steps that you need to do before you want to buy your new Honda car. These things are very important so that you will buy your new Honda cars with peace in mind and save a lot of money.

Step 1:

Firstly, You should check publications at a library or bookstore or on the Internet that discuss new car features and prices. These may provide information on the dealer's costs for specific models and options. Once you have a general idea of the type of vehicle that will suit you, spend the time to do the background work that will disclose advantages and disadvantages. Several Internet sites can help you compare features and prices on new motor vehicles.

Step 2:

Second, You should find out the dealer's real cost on the car (it's typically less than invoice) and the prices that smart shoppers are paying for that car, then research any other items you might want (loans, extended warranties, car alarms, etc.).

Here's the real key to your deal: you must find out what the dealer paid for the car so you can negotiate the price you'll pay for it. You have to find out this information for yourself and you have to be sure it's up-to-date and correct!

Step 3:

Thirdly, There are other good times to buy. September and October are the usual times that new car models arrive, however new models are starting to be released year-round. Saturday mornings are good because a dealership is trying to create some momentum going into the weekend.

Also, when the end of the month is coming up, car dealers will want to boost sales figures for monthly reports, so good deals may be found then as well.

Step 4:

Lastly, everything is negotiable. The price, the trade value, the interest rate, the extended warranty - most dealerships will work with you on everything that you want to work on.

Remember, you have the power. You're the buyer. You can walk out on a deal at any time prior to signing the papers and driving away.

Honda Civic Type-R - Oxygen Not Supplied

The Type R was an exceptional car too, with a 0-60mph time of 6.6 seconds and the ever-eager VTEC engine revving to 8,250rpm. Stylistically it wasn't too different from the standard model, with 17 inch alloy wheels and a spoiler adorning the rear the main differences. It was on the road that the little Honda Civic really delighted with the Japanese firm clearly utilising their Formula One programme for the good of their hot hatch. The Civic Type R became the biggest selling performance hatchback in the noughties - with over 35,000 units sold - so it was no surprise at the 2006 British Motor Show when everyone's legs turned to jelly when they clasped eyes on the new one.

The new Civic is all triangles and space-age - a highly risky direction change for a company happily catering for such a diverse range of customers. However Honda have always wanted to shed their image of being an old-persons car maker and the newest Civic is a styling exercise with the sole intention of keeping its young fan base and stealing the middle aged away from their Volkswagen Golfs. The Type R for the record didn't just turn my legs to jelly at the motor show - I needed a crash team and some oxygen.

The production model is only a tad watered down from the final concept in 2006, with the body kit identical. That means that unlike the previous Civic Type R, you don't need to check the badge to know this isn't the base model. I don't know where to start to be honest - seeing one will say everything I need to, as you'll either love it or hate it. It looks as though a spaceship has crashed into the Pyramids and driven off - but for me, it works.

Crucially Honda haven't messed with the engine, so the new Type R retains the 2.0 litre, 197bhp engine from its predecessor. Although this will of course save on Honda's design costs, it's a clear case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Honda say they have made this new model more refined, with a suspension that isn't as racy the previous model, yet it's somehow firmer and unfortunately not refined in the slightest. This criticism aside, the new Type R has every reason to feel confident in an already crowded market place most notably featuring the Ford Focus ST, Renault Clio 197 and Volkswagen Golf GTi.

Brand loyalty counts for a lot and when the last model sold 2333% more than anticipated, the fluff brigade are surely going to be reaching for the oxygen and their cash too.

Honda Civic Type R - An Obsession

People say school days are the best days of your life but I disagree. For me university was quite simply brilliant fun (and hard work I promise), for three years which quite frankly outstrips anything else I've encountered. Whether it was learning about something I actually had an interest in (handily for this article I studied journalism), the social aspect which encompassed partying, constant football playing and music shopping, or living away from home and growing up, I'm not sure. Throughout the three years there was one motivation to actually sit down and write my essays and it was a picture on my bedroom wall. Neither of Kelly Brook, nor great literature scholars but of a Honda Civic Type R.
The thing I loved about the Honda was that the standard Civic was so boring to look at and drive that you seemingly needed at least 65 years of life experience before being able to own one. Don't get me wrong, just because it was boring to drive doesn't mean it wasn't a good car, it was just very safe and sensible and, well it was for old people. The Type R badge didn't just add a few thousand pounds to the price tag; it transformed the retirement home company car into a snarling piece of motoring exotica that I aspired to own one day if I studied hard.
I'd struggle to win the argument that it looks much different from the standard model, with 17 inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and twin exit exhaust the only obvious external differences. This however was more than enough for me to start salivating and by the time I read the performance figures I needed oxygen. A 2 litre VTEC engine lurked under the bonnet producing 197bhp, revving to a crazy 8,250rpm and dragging the car from 0-60mph in a mere 6.6 seconds. To put it more succinctly, it was as if Honda had strapped a rocket to a mobility scooter.
Inside you weren't met with the most luxurious cabin but racing seats, white dials and a brushed aluminium gear knob offered further evidence that speed really was the only priority for this car. The gearbox is mounted on the dashboard which appears odd at first but it falls so easily to hand and changes so slickly, you'll be converted in minutes. Despite it being front wheel drive, the car handled superbly thanks in no small measure to it's expensive independent rear suspension (something Honda have skimped on with the latest derivative) and communicative feedback through the steering wheel.
Quite rightly in the little Honda's lifespan (2001 - 2006) it became the biggest selling fast hatchback, smashing all modest targets Honda HQ in Japan had. Priced at a tad under £16,000 and delivering all you could want in a driving experience, this was hardly a surprise.
The big question then is, three years on from graduating from university do I have a Honda Civic Type R on my driveway? Um, no but my 'I really want one of those' radar is still twitching very strongly. The very exciting news however is that prices are now reaching a level where this extraordinary car is accessible to the majority - and very possibly me too. A low mileage four-year-old car is now valued at £8,000 (add £400 for air conditioning).
This being a Honda, there should be very little to worry about with a car of this age, the VTEC engine is one of the most reliable in the world and the car itself is well put together, so don't expect to find doors hanging off. As with any used car though it's important to check some key points.
Firstly the car was available in red, black and silver. If the one you're looking at is white it's an import from Japan which may have an extra 20bhp but will be difficult to insure, will depreciate quickly and will have your Honda dealer running for the horizon. The turning circle isn't great on the Type R so check the alloy wheels for signs of a struggle against the kerbs and whilst you're there, have a look at the side skirts for speed hump damage.
Other than that the Type R is as widely praised now as it was when new and with the new model now on sale this version should become more readily available. As a final plus point (if one was needed) it's faster and handles better than the new model. Right I can't wait any longer...I'm off to buy one.
The Honda Civic Type-R always arouses interest especially with Mark Creese who loves 'em

A Mid Engine Coupe For VW?

Here in the US, Volkswagen's image has certainly dropped over the past two decades. The company just hasn't been able to harness the popularity of the first generation Beetle, building a series of small cars that just don't resonate with consumers who prefer a Civic, Corolla, and even the Focus over anything else that VW has to offer.

However, all of that may soon change as the German automaker lays plans for a new US factory and overhauls its line up to bring newer, more exciting cars stateside. Included in that mix is a mid engine coupe and related roadster, cars that could burnish Volkswagen's lagging image.

Yes, you heard that right -- a mid-engined VW. According to AutoWeek and others who have been following this news, a concept car could be ready in time for November's L.A. Auto Show. Here is what we know about this exciting two seater:

    * A pair of four cylinders will power the car. VW's small 1.4L twinturbocharger has been mentioned as has its 1.6L TDI diesel, both working with a seven-speed, double shift gearbox.

    * The body style will be reminiscient of the Lotus Elise, with a curb weight slightly above one ton. This will allow the car to achieve segment leading fuel economy and acceleration numbers.

    * Volkswagen is raiding its own parts bin to hold down costs and is looking at Audi with help building the aluminum spaceframe.

    * Majority VW owner Porsche is interested in the project and could use the new platform for its own purposes, possibly resurrecting the venerable 914 model.

As is common practice, automakers love to leak a certain amount of information about special projects in order to generate publicity which they hope will spread like a virus across the internet. Thus, the recent rumblings could be just that or VW may have something new up its sleeve.

We've seen VW stumble before -- the Phaeton luxury sedan is a prime example -- so don't hold your breath regarding the mid-size roadster/coupe. Still, if all goes according to plan, we could soon see the sportiest of all VWs on our streets in 2011.

Honda Accord Not iFriendly

A short time ago, I checked out the new V-6 Honda Accord Coupe. Sitting in the driver seat, I was impressed by the new, sophisticated upgrades at my disposal: hands-free Bluetooth, XM Radio, a 270-watt audio system, the 18 standard safety innovations are enough to make any occupant feel safe and secure.. While I enjoyed the sportier look of the coupe model and the power of the 271 hp, 3.5 L, iVTEC engine, I immediately felt that something was missing-an iPhone/iPod connection/auxiliary jack.

Yes, I know it sounds picky but when 51 million people have an iPhone and another 260 million other people own an iPod it would be in the best interest of Honda to make an iPhone/iPod connection the standard or at least an aux. jack. The iPhone 3GS, Apple's current iPhone model, can play music over a Bluetooth connection, but the Hands Free Link system in the Accord does not play music over Bluetooth. The system only allows phone features to be used. One may contend, "well, just use a CD or the radio, or even, the XM Radio, a standard feature in the Accord!" All valid arguments, but with digital media now the norm, Accord owners should be allowed to carry and connect their personalized music library to Honda's 270-watt stereo system. While XM Radio is remarkable, it simply cannot imitate a custom-made digital collection. Sure an MP3 CD can be customized to hold 120-150 songs depending on the bit rate, but when iPhone/iPod can hold thousands of titles there is no comparison.

Of course, third-party iPhone/iPod systems can be purchased but this requires that the dashboard and stereo system to be altered. The iPod car kit system needs to be run through the stereo and a dashboard mounted LCD screen must be attached. The end result detracts from the original beauty of the Accord panel display and worst of all, lessons the value of the Accord. iPhone/iPod to FM transmitters can be purchased by Accord owners. The transmitter plays music through an vacant radio station and connects to the bottom of an iPhone or iPod. However, even the "high quality" transmitters like Belkin and Griffin, deliver sound quality similar to that of a Walkman CD player without "shock technology". Every rough road, dip or even touching the transmitter causes my music to skip. What was more annoying was the muted, often distorted sound of my music. The FM transmitters managed to transform my 256kpbs ACC files into second-rate playback sound quality that resembled ringtones on my phone, despite the Honda Accord's sophisticated stereo system. -rendering this technology inadequate.

The lack of iPhone/iPod connectivity can be a letdown but it may not be enough to prevent someone from buying a new Honda Accord Coupe. If Accord owners want to listen to music through the stereo system they will enjoy several optional features, but none of which offer direct access and selection of titles, artist, or playlist from the Accord's stereo controls; features already implemented by all iPhone/iPod ready cars. Maybe Honda will catch up with iPhone/iPod technology in their 2011 and 2012 models still to be released, but for now new Accord owners will have to make do with the factory equipment provided.

How To Decide On A Used Honda Car Vs A New Honda Car

Many people have older cars and they love them. These cars have stood the test of time, and have run well over the years. From time to time a used car owner will meet a new car owner, and they will have a debate. Used Honda Car vs a New Honda Car, tends to the the topic of discussion. There are various aspects of car ownership that can make it seem more appealing to have one type over another. Both cars have pros and disadvantages to think about.
There are used cars that have been known to last for many years. Honda is on the list, as well as Toyota and Volkswagen. These cars reward their owners by lasting a long time with many kilometers building up over the years. The longevity of the cars, allows owners to focus on other expenses and not have to worry about buying a new vehicle.
New model cars can be great, for anyone who loves the look and smell of newer models. When a new Honda is bought, it will feature new technology and newer features. The warranty on the car will be valid and aside from regular maintenance and oil changes, the car shouldn't need too many repairs.
Every once in a while, someone will buy a new car such as a; Honda, Volkswagen, Toyota or Ford, and get a car that has a flaw. This person may be faced with an unexpected huge repair. Some models are known for certain things to be defective on them. That can leave an owner with a car payment as well as an expensive repair.
There are new safety features of a brand new car that may make it appealing for drivers. Having an older car is nice because it is paid off, but with the advancement of airbags and other features that make cars and people safer, some people enjoy their newer model vehicles.
When an older car is paid off and used, it can be less of a burden on the finances. With so many bills and monthly expenses that people tend to have, not having to pay out on the car loan or lease, can help the family budget. Some people think of a car expense as unnecessary, especially when cars can be paid off and not an issue.
The price of a new car vs an older one will differ. Anyone who is looking to spend less on their car, will save money on a used model. The price difference will be different, and used cars can still be financed by a bank or other lender if need be. New cars will be more expensive, but may come with special deals and promotions.
Used Honda Car vs a New Honda Car is an issue that many drivers will debate over. There are advantages and disadvantages to buying new and used. Some people will be passionate about one certain kind over another. The equal amount of pros and cons may have the debate at an equal standing. The issue will always be around and the preference will be up to the driver.

Where Are Honda Cars Made

You've seen them in magazine ads, on television commercials and on the road. Honda is one of the world's best known and respected automotive brands. The company behind the cars is Honda Motor Company, Ltd., a multinational corporation based in Minami-Aoyama Nichome, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Honda designs, develops, manufactures and sells popular vehicles such as the Accord, the Civic, the CRV and many others. Honda cars are driven in many different parts of the world.
Not Everything is Done in Japan
Many people incorrectly assume that Japanese cars are manufactured in Japan. The truth is, the world is a much different place today than it was in the late '40's when Honda first started. Globalization has made it possible for multinational corporations to distribute their production facilities around the world for maximum efficiency. For example, even though the companies' world headquarters are in Japan, American Honda Motor Co. is based in Torrance, California. Honda has also created joint ventures around the world to facilitate operations in places such as China and India.
In terms of where the cars are actually made, the answer is - it depends. Honda has several assembly plants distributed around the world, each producing anywhere from only one to five different styles of automobiles. Depending on where in the world you live, and what type of vehicle you are wondering about, the actual geographical origin will vary. Below is a list of their manufacturing and assembly plants with details about what type of vehicles are made there. It is safe to assume that if you live closer to China than the U.S., the assembly plant closest to (or in) China that manufactures any given model is the one where that car came from.
Honda Manufacturing and Production Facilities
Japan
As of 2009, there were only two main manufacturing plants located in Japan.
The Honda Hamamatsu Factory in Hamamatsu, Japan manufactures cars, motorcycles and engines from the car manufacturers complete lineup.
There is another Japanese production facility located in Suzuka, Mie, Japan. Currently, this facility only produces one model - the Honda Fit.
China
The Dongfeng Honda Automobile Company, based in Wuhan, China opened in 2003. This assembly plant currently manufactures only the Honda CRV, but has plans to produce Honda Civics in the near future.
Indonesia
Honda Indonesia is the name of the factory located in Karawang, Indonesia. Currently, this manufacturing facility only produces the Honda Fit.
Thailand
In Thailand, Honda manufactures the Honda Fit in their factory located in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Turkey
Honda has a factory in Turkey where it has manufactured cars of different styles since 1992.
New Zealand
Honda New Zealand manufactured cars from 1965 through 1998. The models that were produced in this facility include the Honda City, the Civic and the Accord.
Belgium
The production facility in Belgium makes only motorcycles.
England
In the UK, Honda has manufactured the Civic and the CRV in Swindon, England since 1992.
Brazil
Honda Amazonas Motorcycle is a Brazilian production facility that only manufactures motorcycles. The plant is located in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil and has made motorcycles since 1976.
Honda Brazil Automobile, a facility located in Indaiatuba, Sao Paolo, Brazil manufactures the Civic and the Fit.
United States
The Marysville Auto Plant in Marysville, Ohio makes Accords, Acuras and motorcycles.
The East Liberty Auto Plant, in East Liberty Ohio, manufactures the Civic, the CRV and the Honda Element.
Honda Manufacturing of Alabama is located in Lincoln, Alabama. The plant, which opened in 2001, manufactures vehicles such as the Honda Odyssey, the Honda Pilot and the Honda J Engine.

Honda Cars

Honda are one of the most recognised names in the world of motor car manufacturing and have earned a well deserved reputation for building quality vehicles that motorists around the world just love to drive.
Want to drive in style? Then consider the Honda Civic. The Civic comes as a 3-door, 5-door, Hybrid or Type R model. With a variety of options to choose from in the range as a whole the number of features which come as standard are mind boggling. They include SSD (solid state drive), an integrated satellite navigation system complete with traffic message channel and integrated Bluetooth on the top of the range Type S GT-T model.
Honda have learned valuable lessons from their involvement in Formula One motor racing to make the new Civic even better. Cruise control, audio, driver information and voice recognition satellite navigation have all combined to give what Honda call a "Dual Zone" drivers environment.
The Accord is one of Hondas top models and the latest range has added flair. The Accord comes in five options, the ES, ES GT, EX, EX GT and the top of the range Type S. The range comes with a choice of diesel or petrol engines and with manual or automatic transmission. The exception is the Type S which is powered via a 2.2 iDTEC engine with manual transmission.
Added to the Honda Accord range is the Tourer. The Accord Tourer offers the same choice of petrol engine as the rest of the Accord stable but for the first time offers automatic transmission with the diesel version.
The new CR-V range offers diesel performance as Honda have incorporated the 2.2 i-DTEC engine. The i-DTEC is a more powerful yet cleaner engine. It boasts enhanced acceleration and is hailed as one of the quietest diesel engines to have been developed. The CR-V also comes with a choice of automatic or manual transmission.
The Honda FR-V offers both style and comfort. The FR-V is a car built to carry up to six people. The style is exemplified by is chrome door handles, grille, and roof rails giving the car both a touch of elegance as well as a sporty look.
The company are rightly proud of their green credentials and they developed this a step further with the 1.3 IMA (Petrol Hybrid) CVT engine in their latest Honda Insight. This engine switches between electric and petrol power.
For those seeking a compact car the Honda Jazz is hard to beat. Compact it may be, but the Jazz offers plenty of space on the inside for both driver and passengers. The whole vehicle is a testament to the Honda design skills as they have managed to introduce a longer wheel base while compacting the engine space, to create more cabin and storage room.

Performance Honda Acura Exhaust Headers

The first major component of your performance exhaust system is the header. Most Honda Acura come with a crude cast iron log-type manifold stock from the factory. However Honda Acura manifolds are much better than the ones found on a domestic cars but more power can be made with a real tubular header. How much power you make with a header depends also on what is behind the header. If the stock exhaust system includes restrictive muffler design, small diameter exhaust pipes with a lots of wrinkle bends on them the header is not going to have a chance of making a big difference in the performance and horsepower. A good header can be expected to make 3-5 horsepower with the stock exhaust system from the header back. That sounds disappointing but on a engine with numerous modifications the same performance (aftermarket) header can gain you 10 horsepower. Any of the big power adding modifications like nitrous oxide, supercharger virtually require a free flowing exhaust and performance header if you want to take advantage of there power potentials.
Performance headers usually come in 4-2-1 design where each cylinder has its own exhaust pipe than they merge into a pair and each pair of pipes combine into a single pipe. Usually cylinders 4 and 1 are combined and cylinder 2 and 3 make the second pair. The cylinders are combined in such a way because the engine pistons fire 1 and 3 then 2 and 4 and the exhaust of cylinder 4 is going to create a little (from 5 to 15 psi) negative pressure for a cylinder 1 that is going to help to suck out the exhaust gas out of that cylinder.
Installing performance header is quite easy. Most aftermarket headers are design to use all the factory mounting points and brackets. When shopping for a header look for clean welds and thick flange plates for a good seal. The stock gasket should be replaced and it is going to work perfectly fine with your performance header. Make sure to check if the engine in your Honda Acura car is the original or it's an engine swap. Most headers don't have brackets for mounting the factory heat shield but it is pretty sure you will want to show off your new header anyway.
Performance exhaust header can be installed on Prelude, Civic, Rsx, s2000, Integra or any other model Honda Acura car.

Electric Vehicles - 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review

The 2007 Honda civic Hybrid will run you approximately $22,000 without any of the special add-on features. If you're going to buy a hybrid with features such as the Satellite-Linked Navigation System(TM) and fog lights and all of that, you're looking at a $30,000 vehicle. All prices aside, I will take you into this vehicle and show you what it's all about.
Honda Civic Hybrid Standard Features
The first standard feature on the list is Multipoint fuel injection. Multipoint fuel injection is a system that injects the fuel into each cylinder as opposed to a carburetor or throttle body injections that injects fuel at one point in the intake system.
Next we have the, Drive-by-Wire Throttle System which improves engine efficiency while reducing vehicle emissions. The way this is done is it replaces the old throttle control system with an electronic system that is more accurate, requires no oil or service, and does not get affected by outside forces such as hot or cold weather.
Following that we have front-wheel drive. This feature obviously means the front, rather than that rear wheels move the car. There are many reasons for this that has to do with control and handling.
Direct Ignition System with Immobilizer is the next feature. Theoretically, the advantage of this system rather than traditional ignition systems is that it doesn't have parts that can wear out and cause you problems in the future when you try to start your car.
Next on the list we have unit-body construction. This is a system that just tries to lower the weight of the car so it's fuel efficient.
This vehicle also comes with, MacPherson strut front suspension which is not better than double wishbone suspension but it's still better than most. Only problem with this is that the wheel actually will bend in which effects the sharpness of the turn. Well, at least you get to save a few bucks here because of this feature.
Lastly, this vehicle comes with a spare tire like many other cars do just to add that extra feature on the list.
Honda Civic Hybrid Specifications
The Honda Civic Hybrid runs on an In-Line 4-Cylinder aluminum-alloy engine. It has a 1339 cc. displacement, 110 @ 6000 horsepower, 123 @ 1000-2500 toque, and 10:8:1 compression ratio. It received an AT-PZEV fuel rating (best) which determines how well it runs on the same amount of fuel compared to other cars.
Honda Civic Hybrid Mileage
This hybrid vehicle gets approximately 49 miles per gallon (51 highway) meaning you will get more for the money. If you want to see how much you can save, head over to the Hybrid Honda Civil official site (http://automobiles.honda.com) and use there savings calculator. The hybrid only requires unleaded gasoline in case you were wondering.
Honda Civic Hybrid Measurements
The following are measurements that depict the volume inside the vehicle. If you're a big person, you will need to look for these to make sure you're comfortable. In any case, the only reason why I condone the use of a large car is 1) camping equipment, 2) big people. You have to be comfortable and if your not, you have my blessing to pollute. The head room for a Honda Civic is approximately 39 inches in the front and 37 inches in the back. The leg room is approximately 42 inches in the front and 34 inches in the back. The shoulder room in the front is approximately 54 inches in the front and 52 inches in the back.
Honda Civic Hybrid Awards for 2007
This vehicle has won the 2007 car of the year because it is a useful vehicle, it's affordable, and practical for all drivers today. It was also chosen because it is a good choice for first time drivers. This is important because the car people drive when there young is the brand they like to stick with later on.
Consumer guide named the Honda Civil Hybrid the best buy for compact cars. Out of 80 or so cars, this vehicle one based on, such as price, features, performance, accommodations, fuel economy, reliability records and resale value.
Finally, the Honda received the CarDomain People's Choice Award for "Most Mod-Friendly Car." This award is given to the car voted on by more than 1 million visitors of cardomain.com.
This is the gist of the Honda Civic Hybrid. If you would like more information to purchase one of these vehicles today, please visit the official site for more information.

Honda City Ivtec - King of Small Sedans

I have been driving a Honda small sedan for three years. Honestly, so far I have never had serious problems with this car. My general impression about this light sedan is that this car offers some advantages such as fuel efficiency, nice design, advanced engine technology, and value for money.
Now, I am thinking of buying 2009 all new Honda City to replace my current car. However, I face a very serious problem with my plan. The price of 2009 all new Honda city increases sharply. It is almost US$ 8,000 higher. Wow, it is really amazing. If I notice the price of its competitor, 2009 Toyota Vios, 2009 all new Honda City seems unbelievable. Below is just a short review of 2009 All new Honda City.
Completed with a totally new exterior style and some elements of the stylish Accord, the 2009 model is completely different from the previous generation. The new version of exterior gives impression that all forces end at the front side and the streamline design looks like "arrow".
The new engine, which is also same as the one used by the new Honda Jazz, is equipped with i-VTEC technology which provides excellent performance and flexibility without sacrificing fuel economy or emission factor. The new engine gives the Honda City 100PS, 17 PS increase over the previous model. This powerful engine can achieve 0-100 km/h in just 11.8 seconds for the manual version while the automatic version hits 100 in 14.7 seconds.
In order to have smoother changes, the manual transmission for Honda City is a modified with carbon synchromesh. The Automatic transmission is all-new and adds the option to shift gears with steering wheel mounted paddles for the first time.
The 2009 model has been improved in terms of quality of materials, aesthetics and functionality. Bigger storage capacity around the cabin including a bigger glove box improves practicality, while a new design of seats improves passenger and driver comfort.
The design changes are complimented by several improvements to the Noise Vibration and Harshness technologies applied to the car. A host of new features in the body, interior, suspension, engine and mountings have been included to bring further refinement to Honda's newest sedan. The NVH enhancements allow customers to make the most of the new audio system which offers iPod connectivity and better sound quality.
The all new Honda City is basically based on the platform of new Honda Jazz, and benefits from the many of the technologies seen in the new hatchback. The longer wheel base offers significant improvements such as interior space and better handling. Safety performance is also improved with the adoption of the ACE Body Structure (Advanced Compatibility Engineering), which protects occupants of both cars in the event of a collision between vehicles of different heights.
In conclusion, 2009 Honda City is the best choice among small sedans in the market. Its strengths lie on good fuel consumption, stylish design, bigger interior space, comfort, and easy handling.
